Important Public Notices

 

1.  In order to comply with State Reapportionment regulations regarding the population changes brought on by the 2010 Census, the Jones County Board of Commissioners and the Jones County Board of Education have adopted a new plan for redistricting Jones County.  The Plan has been filed with the State of Georgia Legislative and Congressional Redistricting Office and will be presented to the State Legislature for approval at their 2012 legislative session.  Copies of the plan are available for public review at the Office of the Jones County Board of Commissioners.  The plan is also available for download here.

2.  This local government complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, Public Law 101-336 (ADA), which prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability.  The ADA, as applied to cities, counties and other local governmental entities, requires that no qualified individual with a disability shall, on the basis of a disability, be denied the benefits of local government services, programs, or activities.  The County Clerk is the ADA Coordinator for Jones County.  Her office is located at 166 Industrial Blvd, Gray Ga. 31032; and she can be reached at 478-986-8229

3. Jones County will hold a public hearing pertaining to the update of the community’s Short-Term Work Program on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at 5:30 pm at the Jones County Government Center. The purpose of this hearing will be to inform citizens of the planning process and to obtain citizen input regarding the completed Short-Term Work Program update. Representatives from the County and the Middle Georgia Regional Commission (MGRC) will be on hand to provide information and receive comments.
