The Jones County Board of Commissioners is accepting applications for a Building Inspector. Candidate will perform duties related to the inspection of buildings and electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems. The employee is responsible for inspecting a variety of buildings and structures and their infrastructure to determine if relevant codes and regulations are being met. The Building Inspector should possess, at a minimum, a high school diploma or GED equivalent, supplemented by formal vocational or technical training in a related field of study. The Building Inspector shall have at least five years’ experience in construction methods and materials used in residential, commercial, institutional, and industrial structures. A qualified applicant must obtain the ICC Residential Combination Inspector Certification within 12 months of employment. The Building Official may at his discretion extend the 12 month period. Candidate must have a valid Georgia driver’s license.
