Preston Hawkins was elected by the county at large and as served
as Chairman of the Board of Commissioners since January 2005. He
is retired from the State of Georgia Department of
Transportation where he served as construction engineer for 34
years. While employed with D.O.T., he studied civil engineering.
He graduated from Jones County High School in 1957. He currently
serves on the Board of Directors for the Jones County Chamber of
Commerce, Jones County Board of Health, and is a member of the
Middle Georgia Regional Development Center.
