The Georgia Forestry Commission office in Jones County is located on Highway 11 North in Round Oak about 10 miles north of Gray. Regular office hours are 8 AM until 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. The Commission’s main objective is the suppression of wild fires in Jones and Jasper Counties.

Services offered to the public: are plowing of fire breaks for landowners and providing a forester who is available for questions concerning timber. A burn permit number is required for outside burning.

Jones County has a burn ban from May 1st until October 1st.
