Jones County does not operate a landfill other than for yard
debris.
Yard debris is accepted only at the Overland Way facility.
The following items are not accepted at any recycling center.
- Tires
- Shingles
- Propane Tanks
- Freon Tanks
Motor oil to be recycled is accepted at the following locations:
- Garrison Road
- Rock Creek Road
- Walnut Creek Shooting Preserve
- Overland Way
Batteries are accepted to be recycled at all locations except
Juliette.
Cardboard is accepted at:
- Overland Way
- Garrison Road, Rock Creek Road
- Walnut Creek Shooting Preserve Recycling Center
Newspaper is recycled as a fund raiser for the Keep Jones
Beautiful Commission at the recycling center on Industrial Boulevard
by the Government Center building.
Solid waste is transported to nearby landfills.
