The Jones County Senior Center is located on Old Clinton Street in Gray. Services provided include: a noon meal delivered to Jones County homebound residents aged 60 and older for a fee; transportation, nutrition education, outreach services, information and referral, health and welfare counseling, escort services, shopping assistance, telephone reassurance, recreation, arts and crafts, legal services for the elderly, Retired Senior Volunteer Program, bazaars, bingo, and friendly visiting.

The center features a friendly back porch with new rocking chairs made available through a TriCounty EMC grant, two wooden benches, one donated by Ingles. These wonderful additions are enjoyed while watching wildlife natural to the surroundings. With bird feeders, humming bird feeders, and treats for the squirrels, many peaceful afternoons are enjoyed by our Seniors as they sit and rock, and reminisce of days gone by. The center also has an arts and crafts supply room and a room named for Rodney Wilcox for citizens to enjoy the challenge of putting together a puzzle.

Pictures featured here are of an August 2006 arts and craft activity and the much loved “Bring and Brag”. Items for the day’s Bring and Brag ranged from a handmade blouse to homemade banana pudding.

The center is a managed by Middle Georgia Community Action Agency. You may visit their website at:
