The Jones County Water System was taken back under county management on April 1, 2006 with a water superintendent managing the daily operations of the water system and reports directly to the County Administrator. County Water customers may water again on the even/odd system listed below. The City of Gray has not issued the same drought level status. Please call the City of Gray to inquire as to their status.
According to State Climatologist David Stooksbury, "March was a very dry, and it's historically a very wet month in Georgia." The level two drought was declared for all of Georgia. EPD Director Carol Couch said drought conditions will continue to be monitored and she will confer with the Drought Response Committee again in a month.
