The water system:

  • Gets its drinking water from nine ground water wells located throughout the County.
  • Operates four water treatment plants where the water is treated prior to placement into the distribution system.
  • Is permitted by the State to treat 1.5 million gallons of water per day.
  • Has approximately 2.3 million gallons of storage capacity for treated water in the event of emergencies.
  • Maintains approximately 3800 water service connections and supplies water to more than 11,000 customers in Jones County and Haddock.
  • Maintains more than 170 miles of distribution lines, and approximately 30 miles of collection system lines.
  • Mails out all water bills on the last day of the month.
  • Requires all water bills to be paid on or before the 15th of each month.
  • Adds a 10% penalty to all water bills if not paid on or before the due date.
  • Disconnects water service for all customers 45 days or more behind in their payments. A $45.00 re-connect fee, and a 10% penalty is added to the balance and must be paid in full prior to restoration of water service.
  • After water is disconnected, no checks will be accepted to restore service. Payment must be made in full with cash or money order ONLY.
  • Office is located at 270 Highway 49, Macon, GA 31211. Payments are also accepted at the Government Center located at 166 Industrial Boulevard, Gray, GA.
  • Office hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday at the Highway 49 office and 8:30 to 5:00 Monday through Friday at the Government Center.
  • Accepts payment by cash, check or money order. The office is in the process of establishing online payments. A guest computer will be provided at the Highway 49 location or may be processed from the customer’s home computer.
  • Has two convenient payment drop boxes. Their locations are Jones County Water System Office and KNA Grocery/CITGO Station 1359 Highway 22, Haddock, GA 31033.
  • All new customers must setup service and complete necessary forms at the Jones County Water System Office.
  • New accounts require a $60.00 deposit to initiate water services. This deposit is refundable upon closure of the account.
  • Provides service 24-hours per day, seven days per week. Our normal business hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. However, for service after hours, please call 478-743-3211 with your emergency. The answering service will page the on-call operator and he will contact you within the hour to assist you with your needs.
