It is less than one month until the start of the 2015 Atlantic Hurricane Season, and Jones County Emergency Management Agency and the Georgia Emergency Management Agency/Homeland Security(GEMA) encourage residents to take time now to be informed, make a plan and build a personal kit for hurricanes and severe weather.
Regardless of the seasonal predictions, it only takes one storm to devastate a community. Hurricanes and tropical storms are capable of causing a variety of powerful impacts from storm surge, high winds, tornadoes and catastrophic flooding in Jones County.
