1. GENERAL GOLF RULES
A. Registration – All Players must register in the Golf Shop prior to playing. Failure to do so will result in suspension of privileges and or fines.
B. Closing the Golf Course – The Golf Course Superintendent retains the privilege of closing any part or the entire course at any time without notice.
C. Rules Applicable – U.S.G.A. “Rules of Golf” will be observed – local golf rules appear on the scorecards.
D. Fivesomes or More Prohibited unless approved by PROSHOP STAFF
E. Foursomes should allow faster foursomes to play through but do not have to yield to singles or doubles unless the course is open in front of them. If a foursome is waiting on a foursome in front of them they need not let smaller groups play through
F. Fishing is not allowed while golfers are present on the course
G. Pedestrian Traffic – Due to errant golf balls, pedestrian traffic is strictly prohibited during normal golfing hours, 8:00a.m. to dark.
H. Attire –
Preferred – Collard Shirts, Turtle Necks, Pants, Slacks, Tucked In Tops, Skirts, Skorts, Khaki Style Shorts, Golf Shoes
Acceptable – Denim, Solid Color Small Logo T-Shirts, Tennis Shoes
Strongly Discouraged – Graphic T’s, Cargo shorts, Exposed Midriffs, Clothing to loose or too tight.
Prohibited- Sandals, Flip Flops, Boots, Bathing Suits, Men’s Tank Tops, Sweat Pants, Cutoffs
I. All players must have their own bags and clubs.
2. PRACTICE FACILITY
A. Hours – The driving range tee at the warm-up end will open at 7:30 a.m.
B. Hitting Area – Designated between the ropes – with no exceptions.
C. Range Balls – Must stay in the range area. Use on the golf course will be subject to a suspension
D. Dress Code – Same requirements under rule #1
3. GOLF CART RULES
Failure to adhere to Golf Cart Rules will result in suspension
A. Driving Policy – Carts should remain on paths at all times at tees and greens. No carts shall be driven within one hundred feet of any green or tee (except on a path). No cart shall be driven on any slope, hill, or mound around a green or tee.
B. 90-Degree Rule – Effective daily unless the “Cart Path Only” sign is posted by the Golf Course Superintendent.
C. Age – Each driver must be at least sixteen (16) years of age and have a valid driver’s license OR accompanied by an adult Member.
D. Bags on Cart – No more than two bags on a standard golf cart.
E. Person Renting Cart – All people renting a cart are responsible for the cart and passenger.
F. Return Policy – Return golf cart and key to the cart area after completion of the round
4. GOLF COURSE ETIQUETTE
A. Divots – Either you or your caddie must fill every divot with sand (avoid taking divots on practice swings).
B. Ball Marks – On the greens, please repair yours and all other visible ball marks and avoid dragging feet.
C. On the tees – Tee your ball between and not forward of the markers. Please pick up broken tees.
D. Practice – Must be confined to designated practice areas. Practice on the golf course is strictly forbidden. The Golf Professional is authorized to stop any infringement.
E. Walkers – Golf Bags are not to lie or stand on the greens.
F. Golf Carts – Never leave the golf cart in front of the green where you will have to go back to get it.
H. Bunkers – Rake all bunkers after use. Rakes shall be placed to the outside of the bunker away from the greenside.
5. JUNIOR GOLFERS – ANY GOLFER UNDER THE AGE OF 18
A. Adult Supervision – The golf shop staff will be responsible for administering and monitoring of all junior golf play
B. Golf Clubs – A junior golfer must have their own set of clubs and bag to play
6. LIGHTNING POLICY
It is mandatory to leave the golf course immediately once the lightning is present.
Play will be suspended until lightning has left the area for 30 minutes.
Failure to adhere to these rules will result in a suspension
Members will be held responsible for their guests. Do not finish the hole!
7. CODE OF CONDUCT
- Creates an environment and culture that is reflective of the personal integrity and respect documented in the Rules of Golf where it is written that we are capable of enforcing rules upon ourselves with honesty, integrity, and good sportsmanship. The same integrity, honesty, and good will are expected whether on the golf course, in the clubhouse or present on any other portion of the property.
- Is free of discrimination or any form of harassing behavior to fellow golfers, visitors, or staff.
- Acknowledges Lake Jonesco facilities as a customer and family friendly environment and refrains from using obscenities, excessively loud or otherwise inappropriate behavior.
- Observes proper etiquette on and off the golf course and when present at any portion of the facility.
- Shows the utmost respect and dignity to fellow golfers, visitors, and staff.
- Demonstrates an understanding that golfers and visitors have no authority to instruct staff in job performance and duties.
- Is vigilant in reporting real or perceived safety hazards to staff or management.
- Is not denigrate, talk down to, ridicule, or scream at fellow golfers, visitors, or staff members and does not create unnecessary divisiveness in any way.
- Does not misrepresent their position or authority to others.
- Complies with all facility rules.
- Complies with golf staff requests.
- Does not interfere with the ability of customers and/or staff to use the golf course for its intended purpose.
- Issuance of a verbal warning.
- Issuance of a written warning.
- Suspension of his/her playing privileges for a defined period of time.
- Permanent suspension of his/her playing privileges.
- Revocation of his/her Annual Pass and/or Lifetime Pass without monetary reimbursement.
- Removal from the facility.
- Monetary restitution for damage to property.
- Forfeiture of all fees paid.
