Historic Preservation Commission

  • The HPC Board was established to provide designation of Historic Properties or Historic Districts and to provide for issuance of certificates of appropriateness; to provide for appeals procedure; to repeal conflicting ordinances while preserving and enhancing places, districts, sites, buildings, structures and works of art having a special historical, cultural or aesthetic interest or value to Jones County. Board members are appointed for 3- year terms by the Board of Commissioners.
  • The Board meets on the 2ndMonday of the month as needed.

Public Facilities Authority Board

  • The Public Facilities Authority Board executes contracts, leases, installment sale agreements, and other agreements and instruments necessary or convenient in connection with the acquisition, construction, addition, extension, improvement, equipping, operation, or maintenance of a project.
  • The Board of Commissioners appoints 5 members to the PFA Board with staggered terms.
  • The Board meets as needed.
