The Jones County Board of Commissioners is accepting applications for a full-time Animal Services Director. The applicant will be responsible for overseeing the enforcement of animal- related county, state, and federal codes. Work involves educating the public, maintaining efficient operation of the animal shelter, attempting to reunite animals with their owners, and placing pets in permanent, caring homes. The applicant must be able to compile and manage the annual budget for the shelter, monitor the inventory of supplies, medications, and equipment, and work closely with volunteer groups and the public. The applicant must have a valid Georgia driver’s license, 5-10 years’ experience in animal services, management or law enforcement and a high school diploma or equivalent.
